Infantry weapons teams are essential for any Bolt Action army, offering tactical flexibility and presenting your opponent with a variety of challenges. Light mortars, flamethrowers, and anti-tank teams are particularly effective.

The North Korean People’s Army (KPA) made unique use of anti-tank rifles, the PTRD and PTRS 14.5mm, even as other armies moved away from them. These powerful single-shot and magazine-fed rifles were effective against light armored vehicles, half-tracks, trucks, and fortified positions. KPA anti-tank rifle squads were typically led by an NCO and consisted of three rifles with a gunner and loader for each.

Flamethrowers, particularly the man-packed ROKS types, were another important weapon in the KPA arsenal. The ROKS-2, with its backpack fuel tank and rifle-like nozzle, was designed for stealthy deployment. Due to a lack of other anti-tank options, flamethrowers were often used against tanks as well as infantry.

The KPA standard light mortar was the Soviet-designed 50mm Infantry Mortar Model 1940. This portable weapon, capable of firing high-explosive or smoke rounds over 800 yards, was initially allocated to platoon-level teams but later concentrated at the company level for greater firepower.
