In the rugged and remote Rocky Mountains, fabulous riches have been discovered, with gold and silver mines popping up in isolated boomtowns. The mine owners are eager for men, equipment, and supplies to work the Mother Lode, and now is the perfect time to lay down the rails through the Rockies. The faster a railroad reaches a mine, the greater the profits for the mine owners before the resources are depleted. The iron horse represents immense wealth, and players take on the role of mine owners driving the fledgling railroads through the challenging alpine terrain to reach the booming mining districts. This strategic game, with no luck involved, focuses on shared incentives and emerging alliances among players. It’s a thrilling experience for three to five players, playable in under an hour, and designed by a modern master of train games.
