Decision at Kasserine Designer Signature Edition
Decision at Kasserine: Rommel's Last Chance, Designer Signature Edition brings back a true wargaming classic by Vance von Borries, first released in 1983, now remastered and expanded in a supersized edition. This game is widely regarded as one of the standout entries in the Battles for North Africa series. This two-player, operational-level simulation covers the German and Italian offensive in central Tunisia during mid-February 1943.
The Signature Edition features a larger map and counters, marking another Classic Reborn! release from Compass Games. On February 19, the Germans launched their attack through the Kasserine Pass, inflicting significant damage on the Allies, forcing them to retreat 50 miles. However, despite these losses, the Allies regrouped, and on February 22, they launched a major artillery strike, stalling the German advance. Rommel, facing stretched supply lines and the arrival of Allied reinforcements, ordered a retreat and focused on defending the German-held coastal areas. Had the Axis forces succeeded in this offensive, it could have prolonged the war in North Africa and delayed the Allied invasion of Europe. This battle marked the last major German-Italian attempt with a real chance of turning the tide in North Africa.
