In Fresco, players become master painters tasked with restoring a magnificent fresco in a Renaissance church. Each round starts with the critical decision of what time to wake up. Rising early places you higher in the turn order, granting better options, but frequent early wake-ups may lead to unhappy apprentices who become less efficient over time.

Players then allocate their apprentices to various tasks, including purchasing and mixing paints, working on the fresco, raising funds by painting portraits, and even sending apprentices to the opera to boost their morale. Success depends on acquiring specific paint combinations to complete the fresco and strategically competing for paint and fresco segments before your opponents.

Fresco offers several expansion modules, allowing you to tailor the game to your preferences. Play without expansions for a lighter family experience, or incorporate them to enhance decision-making and complexity, providing a highly replayable and flexible gaming experience.
