Halls of Hegra

In Halls of Hegra, you take on the role of a commander leading a group of Norwegian volunteers in the early days of World War II, defending an abandoned mountain fortress against overwhelming German forces. This solitaire-only wargame is similar in style to games like Robinson Crusoe, This War of Mine, and Dead of Winter, featuring mechanics such as worker placement, bag building, and area control/tower defense.

The game unfolds in three stages:

1. Mobilization – Explore the fortress, clearing snowdrifts and repairing broken equipment while recruiting new soldiers. Plan supply routes to prepare for the impending siege.

2. 1st Attack – Defend the village below the fortress from an attack while finalizing preparations for the siege. Send out patrols to secure vital supplies behind enemy lines.

3. Siege – The siege of Fortress Hegra begins. Endure constant bombing and infantry assaults while managing your soldiers’ morale. Will you be able to survive the onslaught?

For ages 14 and up, Halls of Hegra is a one-player game with a playtime of 70–90 minutes.
