Pandemic: On the Brink introduces three dynamic challenges that enhance the base game in thrilling ways. Diseases can become more formidable with the Virulent Strain challenge, evolving into harder-to-treat threats. The Mutation challenge adds an unpredictable fifth disease that appears in unexpected locations, adding further complexity. Additionally, if playing with a fifth player, they can assume the role of the Bio-Terrorist, secretly spreading panic and complicating the game.
