They Feed on Fear RPG

*THEY FEED ON FEAR* is a semi-cooperative, horror-themed narrative tabletop roleplaying game (RPG). Players take on the roles of Fear-Eaters, eldritch interdimensional beings that feed on a human energy called Essence. The goal for each Fear-Eater is to be the first to gather enough Essence to achieve its End Goal. One player assumes the role of the Provider (game master), who describes the world, its inhabitants, and how they react to the players' actions.

Unlike traditional RPGs, the Provider does not issue quests. Instead, players initiate their own actions and determine their path toward achieving their End Goal. Both the players and the Provider collaborate to create and introduce locations within the game's community. *THEY FEED ON FEAR* is centered on developing each Fear-Eater's unique narrative, legend, and lore.

These beings are not of this world, and everything about them is unnatural. Fear-Eaters do not collect loot, gear, weapons, or equipment. Instead, they absorb emotional energy, or Essence. Their purpose is to collect, store, and Drain enough Essence to fulfill their End Goal. Fear-Eaters are supernatural shapeshifters, able to embody their target’s fears at will. Though typically solitary, they may occasionally cooperate, hunting together when necessary or opportune.
