The Termite Assault Drill revolutionized siege warfare, traditionally dominated by bombers and long-range siege artillery. This innovative invention enabled the Legiones Astartes to send their shock troopers directly into the heart of enemy fortresses by burrowing underground, offering protection from interception. These drills remained in use during the Horus Heresy, with both Loyalists and Traitors employing them to breach otherwise impenetrable fortifications.
