U.S. Navy SB2C-4, Operation Iceberg - Academy 12545

The Helldiver carrier-based dive bomber served with the US Navy during the final years of WWII. Produced as a replacement for the Douglas SBD Dauntless, initial prototypes suffered crashes and other development issues. It was also a large and cumbersome beast, lacking favor among flight crews. However, it was crucial in sinking both the Musashi (1944) and the Yamato (1945) battleships during the war, a feat that made up for its drawbacks. This kit includes over 70 transparent and plastic parts to build the SB2C-4 with three finishing options from Operation Iceberg (the Invasion of Okinawa and the sinking of the IJN Yamato) in 1/72 scale.
