In Botany, each player embodies a character whose unique abilities will influence their gameplay. Will you focus on exploring the globe in search of the rarest and most valuable specimens? Or perhaps you'll opt for swift, efficient trips to quickly build your reputation and estate.

Each player begins with a set of randomized goals that guide their path to victory. As players set out from their estate, they are limited to the coins they can carry, which they'll need to traverse the globe, recruit crew members, and acquire items that improve their odds of survival, enhance their abilities, and increase their efficiency on the map. However, spending too freely comes with risks, as players must ensure they have enough wealth to return to England with their precious specimens intact.

Turns in Botany are streamlined to minimize downtime and keep everyone engaged. Players will move across the map, develop their character, and experience the unfolding story of their rise to fame, all while maintaining a focus on efficiency. Points are earned by improving the quality of your garden, retrieving live specimens from around the world, and adding preserved flowers to your botanical press. The variety of specimens players hunt, the goals they pursue, and the events they encounter make each game of Botany feel unique.
