The eighth expansion for Carcassonne, Brücken, Burgen und Basare (English: Bridges, Castles & Bazaars), introduces three new options for players:
Bridges: Bridges can be used to extend a road over a field tile, allowing an incomplete road to continue across a field segment. They are treated and scored just like regular roads.
Castle Tokens: These tokens are placed on top of 2-segment cities, giving players the opportunity to cash in on the next completed adjacent feature.
Bazaars: Bazaars are a new type of tile that enables players to auction off tiles in exchange for points.
