Chaco: Bolivia vs. Paraguay, 1932-1935

Chaco is a game based on the 1973 Game Designers' Workshop original, updated for modern times while remaining true to its roots. Players can experience the Chaco War between Bolivia and Paraguay on a Strategic/Operational level, gaining insight into a significant pre-WWII conflict that helped shape the borders of South America. The game's map represents a portion of the semi-arid Gran Chaco region, a disputed area suspected to contain valuable oil reserves. 2-3 players strategize over ten-mile hexes in six-month turns, simulating the latest territorial disputes in the wild terrain. The basic game primarily uses historical infantry forces to accurately portray the war, but also offers an optional set of rules called Gran Chaco to highlight technological advancements and strategic decisions faced by players.
