Chaco is a game based on the 1973 Game Designers' Workshop original, updated for modern times while remaining true to its roots. Players can experience the Chaco War between Bolivia and Paraguay on a Strategic/Operational level, gaining insight into a significant pre-WWII conflict that helped shape the borders of South America. The game's map represents a portion of the semi-arid Gran Chaco region, a disputed area suspected to contain valuable oil reserves. 2-3 players strategize over ten-mile hexes in six-month turns, simulating the latest territorial disputes in the wild terrain.
