With the passing of a revered spiritual leader, a great void has been left in the Aztec world. Now, players must compete in a test of artistry and skill to earn the favor of the gods and rise to the esteemed position of High Priest. In this challenge, players will craft intricate sculptures of feathered serpents, known as Cóatl, to prove their worth.
During the game, players take turns collecting vibrant, thick head, tail, and body segments, or assembling these pieces into magnificent Cóatls. The goal is to fulfill the beautifully illustrated Prophecy and Temple cards, which dictate the specific designs and patterns that will earn the most prestige. The player who best completes their Cóatls according to these sacred guidelines will gain the favor of the gods and ascend as the new High Priest, becoming the spiritual leader of the Aztec world.
Cóatl is a game of strategy, creativity, and skill, where each player’s decisions and craftsmanship will determine their destiny in the eyes of the gods.
