Innovation: Artifacts of History, the fourth expansion, introduces powerful historical artifacts like the Declaration of Independence. These cards offer strong effects but are challenging to acquire and use. Unlike previous expansions, Artifacts of History doesn’t introduce new mechanics, focusing instead on these powerful artifacts that can significantly help players who are lagging behind.

The expansion does include a few minor new mechanics, like the “compel” effect, which operates similarly to the “demand” effect in the base game, but instead of targeting players with fewer icons of a specific type, it targets players with more.
