Lockup: A Roll Player Tale is a competitive worker-placement game for 1 to 5 players. In this game, you manage groups of minions—gnolls, kobolds, bugbears, goblins, or insectoids—imprisoned in Kulbak Prison. Each round, you must carefully manage your crew's activities while avoiding suspicion from the guards.

Players allocate their minions to various locations within Kulbak Prison, aiming to gain resources, hire powerful crew members, and craft potent items. The player with the most effective crew in each location at the end of the round earns the most rewards and builds their reputation. At the end of six rounds, the player with the highest reputation wins the game.
