The Branch & Claw Expansion for Spirit Island introduces two new Spirits—Sharp Fangs Behind the Leaves and Keeper of the Forbidden Wilds—as well as a new Adversary, France. It also brings Events to the Invader Phase, adding an extra layer of complexity to the game.

The Event Deck features events that occur each turn, introducing more variety to gameplay. The expansion also includes Tokens that can stop invaders from exploring, building, or ravaging, or summon wild Beasts to the land. Additionally, there are 31 Minor and 21 Major new powers that make use of these Tokens, enhancing the strategic options available. The expansion also adds 15 new Fear cards, new Blight cards, and new Scenarios for even more replayability.
