The Thing – Norwegian Outpost is a 4-8 player expansion for The Thing – The Boardgame that immerses players in the events of the 2011 film, focusing on Thule Station, the Norwegian base where the horror began.

This expansion introduces new mechanics that heighten tension and gameplay opportunities. Similar to the base game, the challenge lies in The Thing's ability to conceal its true nature behind a facade of false humanity. The Alien will attempt to escape either via the UFO or the Dog Escape, spreading chaos throughout.

New features include the ability for Humans to escape individually—anyone who manages to do so is declared a winner, while the remaining players continue as normal. Escape vehicles are available from the start, increasing the urgency to sabotage them to prevent the Alien's escape, making the Sabotage action crucial.

The expansion also introduces the Dental Record, a tool for determining who is truly human, and the Flashlight, which plays a new and significant role in uncovering identities.

Note that this expansion is not compatible with the 1 to 3 player version of the base game.
