In Underwater Cities, designed by Vladimír Suchý (known for Last Will and Pulsar 2849), players take on the challenge of building and developing thriving underwater metropolises. By constructing kelp farms, desalination plants, laboratories, and connecting them with tunnels, they create a sustainable environment beneath the ocean's surface.
The game’s core mechanic revolves around a clever combination of action slots and development cards. Players take turns playing cards into action slots, sometimes utilizing the action of the slot, and other times the action of the card. When played strategically, a card matching the slot can provide a valuable bonus. Mastering the balance of these strategic choices is essential to constructing the most advanced underwater habitat, ensuring humanity’s future beneath the waves.
