In Washington's War, like its predecessor, the forces of a global superpower (England) face off against rebellious American colonists in their struggle for independence. This re-design preserves the deep strategic elements of We the People while offering a shorter playing time of approximately 90 minutes.

One of the standout features of Washington’s War is the ability to play twice in one sitting by switching sides with your opponent, making it ideal for rapid tournament play, whether face-to-face or online. The game utilizes a dice-driven combat system that quickly resolves battles, making it very conducive to online play. A new card-driven game (CDG) discard mechanic also allows players to make use of every card in their hand, with the option for opponents to buy discarded events in exchange for operations cards.
